Dr. Hamed Merah joins Advisory Board of the Center

Former Secretary General of Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI), Dr. Hamed Merah has been appointed to the Advisory Board of International Center of Islamic Economy (ICIE).

Dr. Hamed Merah holds a doctorate in Comparative Jurisprudence from the Higher Judicial Institute of Imam Mohammed Bin Saud Islamic University.

Dr. Hamed has a professional career which includes working in Islamic Banks, Investment Banks and Insurance (Takaful) in addition to leading one of the most important specialized international organizations, which extends to more than 45 countries.

Other notable people named to the board include Prof. Abdullah Al Omrani – Professor of Jurisprudence in Faculty of Shar’iah at Al Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University, Prof. Mohammed Al Suhabani – Professor at SABIC Chair for Islamic Financial Markets Studies at Imam Muhammad ibn Saud Islamic University, Dr. Sami Suwailem – Head of Financial Product Development Centre at the Islamic Development Bank, Dr. Osaid Mohammed Kilani – Global Head of Shar’iah at Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, Dr. Raja Al Marzoqi – President of Gulf Monetary Council and Prof. Seif el-Din Ibrahim Tag el-Din – Professor of Economics at Imam Muhammad ibn Saud Islamic University.
